VW T5 & T6 TRANSPORTER SERVICING & REPAIRS

Common T5 Issues We Solve Daily

As experienced VW specialists, we regularly address these frequent T5 problems for our Bedford and Milton Keynes customers:

EGR Valve Issues: When your T5 shows poor acceleration, rough idling, or the engine management light comes on, it’s often the EGR valve. Our technicians can clean or replace this component to restore performance and efficiency.

Injector Problems: If your T5 is hard to start, running roughly, or producing excessive smoke, we can diagnose and replace faulty injectors, often saving you from more expensive repairs down the line.

DMF Failures: Those rattling noises at idle or juddering during acceleration could indicate a failing dual mass flywheel. Our team has the specialist tools and expertise to replace your DMF and get your Transporter running smoothly again.

Timing Belt Replacements: We recommend preventative timing belt replacement every 4-5 years or 60,000-80,000 miles. This critical maintenance prevents catastrophic engine damage, and we always include a water pump replacement as standard.

T6 Servicing Excellence

Your newer T6 Transporter deserves the same level of specialized care. Our services include:

AdBlue System Maintenance: We can diagnose and repair AdBlue system issues that often trigger warning lights on T6 models.

DSG Gearbox Servicing: The DSG transmission needs regular oil and filter changes, which we provide as part of our comprehensive service packages.

DPF Regeneration and Cleaning: When the diesel particulate filter warning light appears, we can perform forced regeneration or professional cleaning to prevent expensive replacement costs.

Stop/Start System Repairs: If your T6’s fuel-saving stop/start system has stopped working, our technicians can diagnose and fix the issue promptly.

Maintenance Schedules That Save You Money

Regular servicing is crucial for Transporter reliability, and we offer tailored service packages:

Interim Service (Every 6,000 miles/6 months)

Perfect for high-mileage Transporters used for business, our interim service includes oil and filter changes, comprehensive inspections, and fluid top-ups to keep your van running efficiently between full services.

Full Service (Every 12,000 miles/12 months)

Our comprehensive full service covers everything in the interim package plus extensive additional checks and replacements in line with Volkswagen’s recommended schedule.

Major Service (Every 24,000 miles/24 months)

This complete overhaul includes everything in the full service plus replacement of components that typically wear over longer periods, ensuring maximum reliability and performance.

Timing Belt Replacement

We recommend timing belt replacement at 60,000-80,000 miles (depending on model) or every 4-5 years, whichever comes first. This critical preventative maintenance can save you thousands in potential engine damage.
